Welcome to WPCA Online! The Woodley Park Community Association is an organization of people who live and work in the Woodley Park neighborhood in northwest Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1965. Its purposes are:
Part of this area, the Old Woodley Park Historic District, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The design guidelines for the district are here. The application for historic district designation contains lots of information about neighborhood history and architecture. A few years ago, some of our neighbors put together a more personal history of Woodley Park, and you can read it here. We keep our members up-to-date with a newsletter called The Acorn, which is published at least twice a year. Here is the most recent issue, and here is the archive. Email Updates are sent to the general membership more frequently. WPCA's Executive Committee is made up of elected officers and at-large members. You can find out more about these people and what they do here. The full membership meets at least twice each year. You can learn more about these meetings here and check the calendar to see when the next one is and for other neighborhood activities. Let us know (wpcadc@aol.com) if you have any questions or comments about this site or if you think there's anything we should be doing for the neighborhood. And, finally, if you're not already a member of the WPCA, you should sign up here (it's free, but donations are welcome). Photos on the top image throughout this site are (c) Yasmin David. |
